What Others Are Saying About Sunny'
So sorry to hear about Sunny. I met her at one of the meetings last fall and she was really a great, enthusiastic person. She will be missed!

I just checked the website. I am so sorry to hear about Sunny. I was working at a project she asked me to do. I had even received an email from her on Feb 25 morning. I still cannot believe it. Anusha R.
This is just terrible and very unexpected. I just got a couple emails from her yesterday wanting me to lead a native plant walk during our next work party to entice more people to come and help us plant. She was such a sweet and generous person and always willing to go the extra mile to help out at Marymoor. I will certainly miss her.

This is a great shock. I agree with many other folks that Sunny was in incredible ball of energy, working on multiple projects and doing a great job. I was fortunate to be on the Board with Sunny for two years and she was a continual source of ideas, and urging us on. I also had the chance to interact with her outside of the Board and she was the same at all times. We are going to miss her.

She left so many legacies. I remember she kept talking to me about getting Issaquah in Eastside Audubon's territory. I thought it was hopeless, but revisited the issue at her insistence. And it really, finally happened.
And the way she jumped in with both feet into the Marymoor BirdLoop project. She brought an enthusiasm and dedication that really pushed the project along.
Conservation, photo group, movie nights, the list goes on. What a hole she has left!
She will truly be missed.

Truly a loss for our community of birders, wildlife enthusiasts and the environmental movement. We will miss her insightful participation in the environmental arena.

She was an amazing woman our Sunny. Her energy, her enthusiasm, her passion, her dedication, her sense of humor, and even her little tantrums were memorable. The list below is a small measure of how much she's given to this chapter. I hope there will be a way for the chapter to honor her memory and her work. Perhaps we could start a new volunteer award, something like the Sunny Walter Memorial Award for outstanding volunteer contributions to the chapter. Something to think about...I just wish I'd remembered to say thank you to Sunny a little more often.

I'm just shocked to be reading this, and keep thinking there must be some mistake, this just isn't possible. If/when anyone has more information please pass it along to me. I'm so sadden for all of us who knew her. She was one of the nature photographers that inspired me to pursue bird photography
Tim B.
We were all shocked and saddened at the news which some of us got after the General Meeting last night. Sunny was such a rock, a pillar, a leader. I'm breaking up as I write this.
Gary L.
Such a sad and sudden thing. Sunny was a dynamo!
Lynn M.
This is a shocking loss. I loved Sunny's cheerful energy, and will miss her at Chapter events.

I can't begin to express all my feelings....Sunny was one of those stalwart parts of our Audubon group and it doesn't seem real that she is now gone. I just want you to know that I will, as must many of the others, miss her terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with you, who worked so closely with her, and with all her other friends and family. Peggy J.
I am shocked to say the least, what a wonderful woman, warm and generous. When I think of ELwas, Sunny comes to mind always, she was part of the woodwork so to say. I had many fun times with her and in communication. Roo and I will miss her ever smiling face. My heart goes out to her friends and family. Perhaps Elwas should now name the photography group in her honour and keep her wonderful work burning forever. Sosad.

This is such devastating news for all those associated with Sunny and her boundless expertise and energy, as well as the Chapter and the community as a whole. So sad that she could not finish her books and many other complete many other plans.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you all
Margaret L.
Shock doesn't even describe how I feel about this great loss! Thank you for keeping us posted Jan.
Suz G.
I'm so sorry to hear of this. This comes as a real shock. She was such a gentle soul, and you could just tell that her love of nature was inherent, and not learned. It is a great loss indeed. From what we knew of her and our jaunts with her in the outdoors, she was just a wonderful lady. We are also sorry for the loss for the chapter. She was a great proponent for the group.
Lori and Shaun C.
so, so sad...she was "relatively" young too? At some point so many things become relative. She was an amazing and interesting lady.
Kathy A.
I cannot believe it.
Margie H.
Sunny was such a wonderful, kind hearted, gentle person. Cannot believe this has happened. Such a loss,
Leslie W.
I was so shocked to read your e-mail. I'm very sorry to hear this. Sunny was a great supporter and tireless worker for the chapter, you are right, this is a huge loss. It's hard to comprehend.
Helen L.
I'm shocked. I can't believe it. She shared so much with us all. Keep us posted if there are services, please.

Thank you Jan. I wish I had known Sunny better as I could tell from her work and personality that she was someone very special. We will miss her smiling presence as well.
Debbie and David L.
I am so sorry to hear about this. Many of the field trips I went on with Sunny, she made the field trip special. Her work and her passion will really be missed. If there is a funeral or a memorial, please let me know. Thanks
Tora R.
I'm so sorry to hear of Sunny's sudden departure from us. It is hard to grasp. Like everyone who ever worked with her, I've always been in awe of her energy and her generosity with her time, talents, opinions and skills. Thanks so much for letting me know.
Mary H.
This is such sad news. Sunny was the person who excitedly drew me into the Audubon Chapter. I just saw her on Wednesday last. I will miss Sunny. She will be terribly missed by us all.
Tamra C.
Caren and I saw each other briefly today, both feeling sad. Sunny was such an inspiration and, clearly, not only to me. I was wishing to get to know her better and I feel I never thanked her enough for her generosity. I'm sorry for all of you upon the loss of such a good friend.
Mary R.
