Old Bird Photography Field Trips

What are Bird Photography Trips?

We travel to locations where birds are highly visible and easy to photograph.  We usually spend a lot of time at one place for a better chance of quality photographs.  Since some of us have fairly heavy photography equipment, our trips are usually car trips, with only short walks to get to the best viewpoints.

Most of our bird photography trips are one-day trips to local photography hot spots, but occasionally we travel west to the coast, east to the Columbia Basin, north to British Columbia, or south to Oregon for a weekend photo trip.

Who would enjoy these trips?

All levels of bird photographers are welcome.  Birders are also welcome to join us; however, non-photographers may be uncomfortable with our slow pace since we concentrate on capturing great photographs of a few birds rather than seeing a lot of birds or rare birds.

Do we do anything special for Birdathon?

We sponsor one Birdathon bird photography trip each year where we take people to a local birding hot spot and give them tips on how to get great bird photographs.

For more information on bird photography field trips,
please contact Ginger Holser at gholser@yahoo.com.

What do we do with our bird photographs?

We meet on the second Thursday of every month to share our images, plan trips, and learn Photoshop tips for editing our images.

For more information on our monthly meetings, go to
Photography Meetings or contact Tim Boyer at tboyer@seanet.com.
