Lake Hills Greenbelt (Bellevue) Field Trip (7/23/01) Highlights

Numerous robins, starlings and House Finches gave 14 people - led by Joyce Meyer - the opportunity to study many different plumages on these young birds.

Rufous Hummingbird, Common Yellowthroat, Northern Flicker, Pine Siskin, and Cedar Waxwing, were among the 26 species seen. A scope view of a juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk, perched on a bare limb, captivated the group for a long time.

Later, two vocal immature and one adult Red-tailed Hawk soared overhead, giving the group a close look at all three birds.
