Naches Peak Field Trip (8/4/01) Highlights
It was a perfect day for the walk around Naches Peak led by Irene von Tobel.
The day was mostly cloudy and breezy, which was more comfortable than the usual hot weather. There were 7 or 8 new people that read about the trip in one of the Seattle newspapers.
The mountainsides were covered by many kinds of beautiful flowers. One of the best years ever. The only birds we saw on the walk were some Gray Jays, with whom we shared our lunches. Back at the parking lot we also saw Pine Siskin and Clarkâs Nutcracker.
