January 16 (Saturday) 7:30 a.m. to late afternoon This is a great time to visit the Skagit and Samish Flats. The tidal flats and fields provide habitat for 20,000+ snow geese in winter (they nest in Siberia).

Many buteos, owl, and falcons hunt in the area. Tundra and Trumpeter Swans should also be numerous. Meet before 7:30 a.m. at the south end of the Kingsgate P&R. Bring a lunch.
