July 22 (Friday) 8 a.m. to noon This urban park offers a wide assortment of birds and habitats due to its varied ecosystems. The trip will involve walking approximately 2-3 miles. Dress appropriately (rainproof in layers; some of the trails can be muddy if wet). Just inside the main entrance, take the first left into the large parking lot and meet at the northeast end. Co-led by Sharon Aagaard and Stan Wood. NO PRE-REGISTRATION NECESSARY. Call Sharon with any questions, 425-891-3460.

July 30-31/Aug 1 (Sat, Sun, Mon) 6 AM We will explore the Methow Valley and vicinity, including Sun Mountain and probably Harts Pass and maybe Loup Loup Pass.

August 26 (Friday) 8 a.m. to noon This urban park offers a wide assortment of birds and habitats due to its varied ecosystems. The trip will involve walking approximately 2-3 miles. Dress appropriately (rainproof in layers; some of the trails can be muddy if wet). Just inside the main entrance, take the first left into the large parking lot and meet at the northeast end. A state park Discover Pass is required to park here ($30 annual, $10daily) and can be purchased online or at a sporting goods store. Co-led by Sharon Aagaard and Stan Wood. Event NAVAHO PASS BIRDING HIKE (Tuesday, July 19, 2011) (from Jul 19, 2011 05:00 AM to Jul 19, 2011 07:30 PM)
Navaho Pass, in the North Fork Teanaway River area of Eastern Washington, is listed as one of the best bird hikes and is geared for fit, long-distance hiker-birders because it's 11 miles roundtrip. It's not a difficult hike, but the distance makes for a long day of hiking and can be tiring after 8-9 hours on the trail.

November 12 (Saturday) 8:00 a.m. to mid-afternoon Loon, grebes, alcids, waterfowl, gulls, shorebirds and passerines are all possible near the Edmonds ferry terminal. Walking will be moderate and on level ground. Bring a lunch. Scope is helpful. November 19 (Saturday) 7:00 a.m. (prompt) This full day trip will be particularly looking for loons, grebes, alcids, waterfowl and lingering shorebirds. We will stop at a couple of places on the way, and then work Marrowstone over thoroughly paying attention to forest passerines along the way.

Event Juanita Bay Park - Roll and Stroll Trip (from Dec 10, 2011 09:00 AM to Dec 10, 2011 12:00 PM)
December 10 (Saturday) 9:00 a.m. to Noon This is a wheelchair accessible trip which will also be suitable for slow walkers. We'll visit a 144-acre urban wildlife habitat area that offers a diversity of bird species and wildlife seen in close proximity in wet meadows, marsh, and open water.

December 12 (Monday) 7:30 AM Our wintering raptors will be back, so we will be looking for eagles, hawks, falcons, accipiters and possibly Short-eared Owls. We'll also watch for waterfowl, shorebirds, small passerines and if we're lucky Northern Shrike.

January 14 & 15 (Saturday & Sunday, 2 days for as long as we last) The Sanctuary is located in the center of the Fraser River estuary, which is of international significance to birds migrating along the Pacific Flyway.

Advance registration is a must for this field trip to see migrating shorebirds on the Washington coast.
