This is a hot spot for birds in Seattle.  It is one of the few places with open fields and freshwater ponds in the Seattle area.  These ponds attract migrant shorebirds in small numbers but in an amazing diversity.  Virginia Rails and Soras can be found in the cattail marshes.  In Union Bay large numbers of waterfowl are usually present.  Meet before 8:00 a.m. just south of the bus stop at the South Kirkland P&R (on 108th Ave. NE just north of hwy 520 and Northup Way).  Passenger cost/person $2.00.
