Bainbridge Island is renown for it s gardens - private, public, and commercial.  Our first stop is the Little and Lewis Garden and Gallery, where an extravagant jungle of plants provide a backdrop for the world-famous columns, fountains and giant leaves of cast concrete.

Our next stop is Bainbridge Gardens Nursery for a tour of the four acres of theme gardens and furniture and garden-art displays.  We will eat lunch at the New Rose Café on the nursery grounds.

After lunch, we head for the Bloedel Reserve, a 150-acre arboretum and nature reserve which features lovely manicured gardens and naturalistic meadows and ponds, surrounded by 84 acres of second-growth forest.  We will see both native and exotic plants, including rhododendron at their peak bloom.  We will also observe birds in the Bird Refuge and visit the lovely Japanese Garden and the Reflection Pool, the Moss Garden, and the formal Reflection Garden.

Bloedel ReserveMeet before 8:00 a.m. at the Wilburton P&R at SE 8th in Bellevue. Bring beverages, snacks, walking shoes, water, field guides, binoculars, and cameras.  Leaders: Sunny Walter and Melinda Bronsdon.
