Movie Night

In the fall of 2009 we resumed our monthly Movie Night offerings in partnership with the Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church.  They are held on the first Saturday of most months (see calendar)

We plan on expanding our program to include movies on environmental or social issues, birds, wildlife, natural history and travel, but need a movie night chair to make that happen.  The format currently includes a movie and a short discussion, if appropriate to the movie subject.

History

From October 2007 through June, 2008, Eastside Audubon and the Sierra Club co-hosted a movie and discussion group on the second Monday of every month.  We had a brown-bag dinner-in-the-round with other environmentally-friendly people from both organizations and then joined in an informal dinner topic discussion led by one of our members.

The highlight of our evening was an entertaining, educational, or inspirational movie, followed by a group discussion.  Movie subjects covered birds, wildlife, nature, or the environment.  For a list of movie titles we enjoyed, go to:

Movie Night chair is a fun position for someone who wants a low level of commitment and who likes movies. Please check out the job description at Movie Night Chair.  If you want to learn more, contact Jan McGruder at 425-576-8805 or jmcgruder@eastsideaudubon.org.
