Sharpen Your Focus

Birding Events and Surveys

If you love birds and you enjoy being part of a team, we urge you to join a Christmas Bird Count team or a bird survey team.  Enjoy the fun, the sense of comradeship, and the satisfaction you will have in contributing to the scientific knowledge base about birds.  And if you sign up for a Birdathon team, you will be raising money for the chapter while your team has fun competing.

You can also join one of our festival teams - Swift Night Out or International Migratory Bird Day Festival at Marymoor Park.  Work becomes fun with enthusiastic, supportive people on your team

Conservation Projects

If you want to make a difference in the environment, you can do it alone or you can multiply your efforts by volunteering for an Eastside Audubon  conservation project.  Our main project for the past two years has been the Audubon BirdLoop at Marymoor Park.  We also track local land use issues issues with Eastside cities. And some of the Birding events above contribute to citizen science.

Youth Education Workshops and Scholarships

If you have a nurturing personality or just love helping kids learn, you will enjoy working with our youth workshops in schools or parks programs, staffing our youth education booths at environmental and science festivals, helping with our family nature walks, or assisting kids with our summer camp scholarship program.
