Eastside Audubon Society and Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church are teaming up with Tilth Alliance to install a native plant demonstration garden for the birds and the community to enjoy. The garden will be installed on the northwest corner of the church grounds, on the corner of State Street and 3rd Street and the aim will be to provide an attractive garden that helps to feed and shelter the birds and can serve to inspire and educate our community members. Join us on Sunday, November 19th, to kick off the project. We will begin by weeding and sheet-mulching the area and hopefully will install a few starter plants in the area. Bring your gardening gloves and any tools that you have handy. We will be using shovels, rakes, and perhaps some loppers or sheers and will have some on hand for those who need them. We will be starting at 1 p.m. and working until 4 p.m. Please RSVP to Dawn Huss, Eastside Audubon Native Plant Resources Coordinator and Soil and Water Steward, at dawnhp@sbcglobal.net

The mission of Eastside Audubon is to protect, preserve and enhance natural ecosystems and our communities for the benefit of birds, other wildlife and people.
