Let the Birdathoning Begin!

May is Birdathon, when Eastside Audubon birds to raise funds in support of our conservation and education work.

Birdathon is here!

This year there are plenty of ways for you to be part of Eastside Audubon’s big May fundraising campaign, whether you bird for pledges, pledge to another birder, or simply make a donation.

However you contribute, the birds will benefit doubly this year thanks to a generous promise from the Melody S. Robidoux Foundation to match every Birdathon dollar we raise up to a total grant of $15,000.

The foundation is a philanthropic organization created by its namesake, whose husband, Mick Thompson, serves on its board and is also our chapter photographer.

New for Birdathon 2013

We’re offering new trips and extra support to help you have a fun and successful Birdathon. For example:

Green birding. Urban birding by bus with the Greener Herons on May 25.

Weekend walks and trips. At least one trip every Saturday, including a May 18 walk especially for families. See the May Calendar.

Dawn chorus walks. Celebrating the glory of spring birdsong. May 8 and May 18.

Introduction to Bird Photography. You learn the basics, and Omega Photo of Bellevue makes a Birdathon donation. Class details.

Birdathon Toolkit: Ideas you can use to create your own Birdathon, tips for getting pledges, and connections to birders want your pledge. Get the Toolkit.
