Missing Ingredient in EAS Election: Candidates

You can help your chapter, learn a new skill, be part of a dynamic leadership team, and accumulate good karma — all by volunteering for a board position.

By Andy McCormick

We are looking for a few good folks to support our membership connections, work on special projects such as Lake Sammamish State Park and Marymoor Park, educate people about birds, or schedule birding field trips.

Our call for candidates in September brought no responses, but, with the election coming in November, we're not giving up.

Open positions are:

    • At-large Member
    • Membership Chair
    • Financial Development Chair

As a board member in any role, you can help lead our new campaign on building Bird Friendly Communities or our initiative on Shaping a Healthy Climate and Clean Energy Future. The chapter will be emphasizing these two parts of the National Audubon flyways strategy.

You don’t have to be an expert birder, business major, or super fundraiser. You just need to be you and be willing to help the chapter. We’ll support your growth in the position, and you can help lead the chapter to fulfill its vision of connecting people to nature to help birds and our communities.

Call me (425-518-0892) or contact any board member if you are interested. We’ll be happy to sit down and answer all your questions.
