VIRTUAL PROGRAM NIGHT: FIRE, WILDLIFE, AND CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST

Over the last few years, Dr. Peter Singleton has been working with the interagency Adaptation Partners group (http://adaptationpartners.org/) to write climate change vulnerability assessments for federal lands in the Pacific Northwest. He was the lead author on the wildlife vulnerability assessment chapters for south-central and southwest Oregon, and is currently working on write-ups for the Oregon Coast Range and Oregon westside Cascades. Now, more than ever, is the time to talk about the science of wildfire resilience and climate change adaptation.

Peter Singleton is a Research Wildlife Biologist with the USDA Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station in Wenatchee, WA. His research interests lie at the intersection of wildlife biology and landscape ecology, including animal habitat selection, movement patterns, population dynamics, species interactions, and responses to natural and human-caused disturbances. Peter has spent the last 25 years involved in wildlife research and management in the Pacific Northwest. Peter holds a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, an M.S. from the University of Montana, and a B.S. from The Evergreen State College.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Program Nights takes place on the fourth Thursday of every month from 7-9 pm unless otherwise indicated.
