This field trip is for the novice birder, someone with little or no birding experience. It includes a combination of instruction and field time. Trip leaders Lori and Antonio will first cover topics such as birding etiquette, bird identification, field guides, birding apps and binoculars. Then they will lead the group on a birding trip through the park. At the conclusion there will be time for Q&A.
This trip is a good primer before heading out on your own or joining other Audubon field trips. Children 10+ are permitted if accompanied by a parent/guardian.
The pace for this walk will be leisurely, on a combination of solid pavement and mostly level (possibly muddy) trails and boardwalk, the distance is less than three miles.
Meeting location: Entering from West Lake Sammamish Parkway, meet at the Marymoor Park Office parking lot (first parking lot on the right).
Due to COVID-19 restrictions you must provide your own binoculars.
The trip is free but limited to 10 people, pre-registration and agreement to follow COVID-19 safety protocols is required.
