Eastside Audubon COVID-19 Updates
July 31, 2020
Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your patience while we make adjustments to bring content online so you can continue to connect with nature during these trying times.
Eastside Audubon's Board of Directors have reviewed the most recent announcement from Governor Inslee on rollbacks to social gatherings in Washington State. Based on these most recent guidelines and the recent uptick in positive Covid-19 cases in our community, Eastside Audubon has decided to cancel all in-person activities and events until further notice.
Please check our calendar for virtual activities and cancellations.

Dear friends,
Eastside Audubon is eager to get back to the some sense of “normal,”, but for now, chapter leadership has made the decision to cancel all in-person organization activities until July 31st.
We know how much connecting with your local audubon chapter means to you. In response to that, Eastside Audubon will be launching virtual activities to help keep you connected with nature and each other. You can find details about those events on our website calendar in the coming weeks. We will also be issuing a survey to hear what other kinds of online activities will help keep you connected to our community. Look for that survey in your email inbox soon!

Dear friends,
Eastside Audubon is continuing to monitor the impact of the pandemic on our community and adjusting the chapter’s activities accordingly. With Governor Inslee’s announcement of a phased approach to reopening, Eastside Audubon has made the decision to cancel all in-person activities until the end of June. At this time, the chapter is looking into our ability to support a program night presentation and chapter meeting via video conferencing for the month of May. More details on that to be announced.

Dear friends,
On behalf of everyone at Eastside Audubon, our hearts go out to all those impacted by COVID-19—including members of our community diagnosed with the virus, those individuals caring for a loved one exhibiting symptoms, and the medical professionals on the frontline battling this crisis as best they can.
The health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and members remains our top priority. To do our part to stop the spread of the virus, Eastside Audubon's leadership has decided to cancel all chapter classes, events, field trips, and program nights until May 27th.
The situation is changing rapidly and we know that you have a lot on your plate, so moving forward, Eastside Audubon will be providing all chapter updates regarding programming on our website's landing page.
We realize the impact our cancellations can have on our volunteers and members who find solace in connecting with friends in our close-knit community. But we also want to ensure we are doing everything we can to protect those most at risk in the coming weeks and months.
At this time, there is much uncertainty about how long this situation will last and the response it will require, but we are confident we can get through it if we stick together. Thank you for your commitment to the birds and for being such an important member of our community.

Dear friends,
I am writing today to provide an update on the status of Eastside Audubon's activities in light of the COVID-19 outbreak in our area. Chapter leadership was cautiously optimistic about the state of the pandemic when we cancelled organization activities through 3/20 earlier this month.
As the situation continues to evolve, we believe it is in the best interest of our community's health and wellbeing to cancel all chapter activities through the end of March. This includes all field trips, events, committee meetings, and our program night speaker.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely to inform you about further cancellations if necessary. In the meantime, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the King County's Public Health tips on social distancing and other ways you can help minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Thank you for your support of Eastside Audubon and the work we do to connect our community with nature. We will weather this storm together thanks to your dedication and support.
