Bird and Native Plant Walk at Sammamish’s Lower Commons Park

This will be a morning walk to look for birds as well as identify the native plants that feed and shelter them. It will be co-led by Eastside Audubon and Sammamish Stewards, who have been involved with restoring and maintaining the Native Plant Garden in the Lower Commons. The walk is perfect for those who want to see the birds of our area during the spring and learn about the plants found along the way. It will start at 8:00 a.m. and take place rain or shine. Bring binoculars and wear clothes and shoes for possibly wet conditions.

The walk is limited to 15 people and registration is required.

Pace: Leisurely walk. Terrain: Paved path and mown lawn with gentle rolling hills. Distance: Less than 1 mile. Level: Appropriate for all levels of birders.

Your safety is of paramount importance to Eastside Audubon. The following COVID-19 safety protocols apply for this bird walk:

  • This event is entirely outdoors, mask wearing is optional but welcome.

  • Participants are required to self-assess prior to the walk and must not attend if they have any COVID related symptoms (e.g. elevated temperature) or have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past two weeks.

  • The trip leaders are fully vaccinated.
