Let's Go Birding Together - Bird Walk for Pride!

  • Marymoor Park 6046 West Lake Sammamish Parkway Northeast Redmond, WA, 98052 United States (map)

This bird walk is in support of the National Audubon "Let's Go Birding Together!" campaign in recognition of June being Pride month. There is no cost for this event, all are welcome, however children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Join Eastside Audubon at Marymoor Park to celebrate Pride in the best way we know how: with birds! Tammy & Kendall will lead a riverside walk that is home to towhees, waxwings, grosbeaks, hummingbirds, herons and more!

We invite the LGBTQIA++ community to join us in celebrating not just the diversity of the birds in area, but also our people. Let's Go Birding Together! is a birding walk intentionally welcoming of the LGBTQIA++ community and is designed to be a space where people can be themselves without fear of judgment. Let's Go Birding Together! bird walks are held nationwide during June to build community and create diversity, reflecting the biodiversity in our ecosystems. This event is part of the Let's Go Birding Together! campaign put on by the National Audubon Society.

Let's Go Birding Together! walks are for everyone who loves birds and the outdoors. We welcome those who identify as LGBTQIA++, allies, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an outdoor experience that is inclusive.

The route is about 2 miles over flat terrain. Trail surfaces include gravel, wooden walkways, hard-pack dirt, and sometimes wood chips. If you have specific accessibility needs, please reach out to the trip leaders and we will can adjust the route to accommodate you.

We will meet in Parking Lot G by the start of the Heron Loop Trail. The parking fee is $1.00 cash (cards accepted at some kiosks). Bathrooms are located throughout the park. Binoculars will be available to borrow. No registration required.
