MONTHLY BIRD WALK AT TOLT-MacDONALD PARK

Join Anne and Kendall on the third Saturday of the month for this exploration of varied habitats at the confluence of the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers in Carnation. Depending on the season, species present in this park include raven, kingfisher, American dipper, kestrel, peregrine falcon, bald eagle, Bullock’s oriole, black-headed grosbeak, cedar waxwing, wood duck, swans, and more.

This field trip is for any level of birder, and the leaders encourage attendance by anyone with little or no birding experience. Children 10+ are permitted if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The pace for this walk will be leisurely, mostly on gravel or dirt trails that are fairly level in grade, with a few stretches on the paved path. The distance covered will be less than three miles. There are portable toilets available. Meet at the Tolt-MacDonald Park parking lot.

The trip is free and registration is not required.

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols you must provide your own binoculars, and agreement to follow COVID-19 safety protocols is required. The following COVID-19 safety protocols apply for this bird walk:

  • This event is entirely outdoors; a mask is required if not vaccinated otherwise is optional.

  • Participants are required to self-assess prior to the walk and must not attend if they have any COVID related symptoms (e.g. elevated temperature) or have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past two weeks.

  • The trip leaders are fully vaccinated.
