Overview: A leisure evening walk through the Bellevue Demonstration Gardens. A little hidden gem on the east side where birders can see several different birds, such as Warblers, Hummingbirds, Woodpeckers, and lots of little brown birds. As we walk the north side of the Lake to Lake Trail heading towards Larsen Lake, we will have the opportunity to see a variety of summer birds. The woods have the occasional owl sighting, along with perching hawks. Maybe we will be lucky enough to see both? We will explore some of the back paths, before continuing down the Lake to Lake Trail. We will turn around prior to crossing the road at Lake Hills Boulevard, which continues out to Larsen Lake. This will be a leisurely paced walk on mixed terrain of hard packed dirt and some gravel, with slow grade and short hills (nothing strenuous).

  • Skill Level: Novice to Expert Birder

  • Equipment: Binoculars (scopes are not needed for this walk)

  • Pace: Leisure

  • Terrain: Mostly flat, packed dirt/gravel, packed dirt, pavement

  • Distance: About 2 miles roundtrip

  • Facilities/Amenities: Restroom at Ranger Station. May be closed in evening, but nearby Robinswood park does have public restrooms.

  • Misc: Mosquitos can be an issue.
