Thirteen Ways of Looking for a Starling: Birdwatching & Drawing
Sharpen your observational skills through birdwatching and drawing. In this course with Drawing Herd, you'll have the chance to observe a diverse range of bird species in their natural habitats. Knowledgeable birdwatchers will provide insights into bird behavior, migration patterns, and habitats. Through a series of rapid, expressive drawings, we'll explore various techniques for capturing movement and relationships observed in nature through art.
This class will be co-taught with Lori Danielson, a volunteer from Eastside Audubon. It will be held at the Lower Sammamish Native Plant Garden in Sammamish, Washington on Saturday, July 20th.
Drawing Herd is an observational workshop series hosted by Coco Allred. Taking place in downtown Seattle and parks across King County, the project aims to give participants new ways to cultivate attention with particular emphasis on the bioregion and historical context of each site. Each class is co-taught with special guests whose expertise ranges from parkour tricking to choreography to atmospheric science.
All classes are free and supplies are provided!
