EVENT CANCELLED Habitat at Home Workshop: Bringing the Birds to You

  • Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center 1625 118th Avenue Southeast Bellevue, WA, 98005 United States (map)

SORRY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
We will reschedule when the instructor is available.

Ever wanted to attract birds to your property, whether you live on a large property or have a small apartment balcony? Join the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife and Eastside Audubon for an informative "Habitat at Home Workshop."

This workshop will teach you how to create quality habitats that invite birds to your space, regardless of your living situation. Learn the essential components of bird-friendly environments and discover how to grow plants that serve as natural alternatives to bird feeders, which can spread disease.

Participants will leave with a custom habitat plan, planting resources, and a habitat starter kit. Don’t miss this opportunity to build a thriving bird habitat at home!

The workshop is led by Claire Kerwin. Claire has been working in restoration ecology and education for 10 years. She believes that humans and the natural world are not separate and she’s passionate about teaching this beneficial relationship. Claire received a Bachelor of Science from University of Massachusetts and a Master of Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College, where she focused on restoration ecology, Indigenous food sovereignty, and toxicology.

Registration for this event is required. Registration closes August 15th at 5pm.

The workshop is free, but a donation of up to $20 would be appreciated to offset the cost of supplies.
