The Samish and Skagit Flats are outstanding locations in winter for hawks, eagles, falcons, as well as waterfowl and swans. Join us as we look for Red-tailed and Rough-legged Hawks, Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and American Kestrels (and hopefully more unusual ones). We will also check out the various waterfowl and Trumpeter and Tundra Swans. Of course we will not neglect the small passerines. Come prepared for most any weather, bring lunch and a Discover Pass if you have one.
We will meet at the north end of the Kingsgate P&R at 6:45 AM. Call Brian H. Bell at 425-485-8058 to reserve your spot before the trip (if you call on the morning of the trip, please call 206-619-0379). Field trip cost is $20 per passenger. Limit 11 in 3 cars.
