$5,000 GiveBIG Washington Matching Gift Challenge
As many of our members and supporters know, April and May are typically Eastside Audubon’s busiest months of the year with a native plant sale, community outreach events, youth education presentations, Birdathon fundraiser, habitat restoration projects, and more. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the chapter to sideline many of our vital activities and find new ways to connect with the community while also fulfilling our mission to protect local birds, wildlife, and natural spaces.
To help us do just that, an anonymous donor has come forward with a matching gift challenge for Eastside Audubon supporters. This generous individual is matching every gift—dollar for dollar, up to $5,000—when you make a gift to our chapter through the GiveBIG Washington campaign now through May 6th.
Donations to Eastside Audubon help bring vital educational opportunities—for all ages—to the community. Recently, our Youth Education Committee volunteers took part in an owl presentation at the Kenmore Library. Here’s what library staff had to say:
“Thank you so much for the great presentation on owls last Saturday. The children and parents loved it!”
Thanks to you and the support you provide through volunteering, memberships and donations, you are fostering curiosity about wildlife and our natural world in our community’s youth. This work would not be possible without you.
The staff and board of Eastside Audubon can’t wait for the day when we can all be together again. In the meantime, I hope you will consider joining me as we raise money to defend wildlife, restore natural habitat, and educate the next generation of environmentalists during Washington’s most generous day of the year—GiveBIG!
