Thank You from Sofia Leotta
“Dear Mary/Eastside Audubon Society,
I am writing to express my gratitude for being awarded the Brian Gershon/Eastside Audubon Scholarship. I was thrilled to learn that you selected me as a recipient for this scholarship. I aim to carry the values of your society forward in my life as I continue serving my community and engaging with environmental topics.
As an incoming college freshman planning to go into an environmental major in college, I know this scholarship will be instrumental in my success. Thanks to you, I am one step closer to my goal of making progress towards a sustainable King County that supports both the environment and the people in our region.
This Eastside Audubon Scholarship has lightened my financial burden. Now I have more freedom to focus on driving change at the university level. I will have time to engage with my community and actively learn through service groups, academic clubs, and research opportunities.
Your generosity inspires me to continue efforts to better our region as I enter college. One day I aspire to follow in your footsteps by helping students pursue their dreams as you have helped me.
Sincerely,
Sofia Leotta”
