Eastside Audubon’s Green Tip of the Month for July 2024

How about for July, we all commit to picking up litter during our walks or even while biking! I might be a bit obsessive about this because now I can't walk without scanning for litter, especially plastic and Styrofoam (luckily, my husband is very patient).

I always carry a bag and often wear gloves for protection. If bending down is a challenge, consider using a litter picker-upper extender stick. It can be disheartening to see so much litter, but if we don’t pick it up, who will? I keep a bag in my car so that whenever I park and spot litter, I can easily and safely dispose of it.

Your actions will help protect birds, animals, and soil from contamination, choking, and harm. Plus, you'll feel immediate satisfaction from doing good!
